@03:21Oh ya, if you go on the Copic europe website, they have a list of retailers [link] - any of them have cheap stuff and ship?
Copic has a few distributors Europe, north america, japan and australia and they don't cross the boundaries and retailers are limited by them as well.
Bummer :<

So a quicky little video I made on refilling Copic Markers.
All my Dry ones are Ciao's so I demo'ed on them but you can do the exact same thing for a sketch.
This is MY method. It works, and it works well for me. Some people couldn't stomach losing a drop of ink, if that's your issue, then measure it out, or let it drip on the nib you pulled out and have it soak up your drips... hey that's a good idea.

Incidentally, you can pull out your chisel nib and replace it in the same way I reefed it out of my marker here.

One day I'll demo the Booster needle too, but i find it so pointless...
There are a couple other methods I'll demo later too.

anyways, dont forget to check out my youtube channel: [link]

some things are too big to make it on dA, so I'll be posting there.

BUY REFIILLS:
So many people have asked where to buy refills.

If you're in BC head into an Opus. It's an art supply store. They can order them for you, or buy online at [link] - they ship across Canada.

If you're NOT canadian [link] is the place to go. (the shipping is WAY to much to canada though!)

Refilling Copic by `guruubii -- Suggester's words: So many people I have come across that do not know how to refill copics (myself included). This tutorial was really helpful and I am sure for those that use copics that do not know how to refill -they would find this resource a great way to fix that gap in knowledge. I just bought my first set of refills only to realize they say to use that needle thing. I freaked out! But thanks so much for sharing this simple and easy to understand tutorial thing so I can now do it like a 'pro' haha.

@03:21Thanks for the cool video, I didn't know how to do it ;)

In my area (I'm from Europe) you pay 7-8 Dollar each Ciao Marker (not Sketch!). I think that's expensive, but I can only buy single ones of the Ciao and not of the sketch and I think it's better than buying a whole set.
But I think the difference isn't that big owning Sketch, is it?

@03:21No the only differences between sketch and ciao is:
Sketch holds a few CC's more ink (less refilling)
the colour codes are on the cap (important for me, because I make palettes with the codes.)
The caps are safer for the markers. the ciaos have a little rim in the inside with a sharp edge (kid safe - the air holes make it so someone can still breathe if the cap is swallowed). if you are not careful shoving the cap on it can mangle a nib.

Thats about it.
The sets are good if you just want to fill out your collection. I like the buying of sets then adding onto that. gives you a base of colours to start selecting new colours from.

That is REALLY pricy for ciaos. The price just went up here too :/
Does icopic.com ship to Europe? they're really affordable, but sometimes the shipping is bad.

Well I'm glad you found my video! now you'll save lots of money buying refills :3

@03:21Thanks for the answer :)

Unfortunately they don't send to Europe :(
That's the problem with the internet shops, most of the time they only send it inside North America...
Maybe I will find a cheaper possibility one day :)

If you buy in bulk, well an order over 100.00 which doesn't just have to be markers shipping if free. I usually lump my orders together.

@03:21I have never seen it done this way, honestly! I'm rather impressed at how simple it is. Honestly, what I do is I skip the step of removing the broad tip and stick the nozzle directly up against the broad edge of it. There is a little hole that allows all the ink to simply be absorbed into the tip and, whatever didn't get absorbed, just runs down and right into the marker.

Mildly less time consuming, if the explanation made sense at all...

@03:21I've done that too, but I find it takes longer to wick all the ink in because I cant just squeeze the ink into the hole. plus it's 2 handed. When i do it without filming i just drop the bottle in and with one hand (holding the bottle and pen together) squeeze it until it's full.

@03:21I can't imagine wasting time with that needle to be honest! HAHA!
plus it seems like it would aide in the break down of the fluff inside that suspends the ink. It's silliness! The bottle fits right in and besides, you can watch the pretty colours drop in without it. I like filling it in front of a lamp to get all the light through the ink. HAHA!
